Born in 1941 as the second son of Ninth-Generation Tōkurō Miyake, a Living National Treasure, he began studying Kyogen under his father. 

He made his stage debut at the age of six, performed the highly demanding masterpiece Tsurigitsune at twenty-two, and the following year mastered Hanago, one of the most prestigious secret works in the Kyogen repertoire.

In 1982, he was designated a Holder of Important Intangible Cultural Property (General Recognition).

A distinguished Kyogen performer of the Izumi School, he is renowned for his refined and elegant artistry, combining impeccable technique with a unique grace that brings remarkable depth and richness to every performance. While honoring the traditions of Kyogen, he has continually expanded its artistic possibilities through an innovative and open-minded approach.

Particularly noteworthy is his work with the Japanese Theatre Of the Deaf, established in 1985, where he has served as instructor and director for Sign Language Kyogen, making a significant contribution to broadening the accessibility and appreciation of this traditional art.

He is a member of the Japan Nohgaku Performers' Association and the Japan Nohgaku Organization.
